Ken Etete’s century group, making tremendous impact in Nigeria, IYC tells FG

Spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill has stated that the foremost Nigeria’s indigenous company, Century Group in the Oil and Gas sector has made tremendous positive impacts in Nigeria.

Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide made the remark yesterday at his office in Warri when he received a delegation from Century Group led by Peter Ofoghan.

Binebai while speaking during the visit had described Sir Ken Etete, CEO of Century Group as a blessing to the Ijaw people, Niger Delta region, Nigeria and the World at large, he particularly lauded Etete’s philanthropic gestures across the country.

He noted that the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) is proud of him, stressing that his company as a leading Indegenous Company in the Nigerian oil and gas sector has employed thousands of youths out of the streets, maintaining that the company is one of Nigeria’s private firm that is highest employer of labour in the Niger Delta region.

“The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide is very pleased with the activities of Century Group. The company has contributed greatly in sustaining peace in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large by engaging countless hitherto idle youths and redefining their lives through employment for which many are now economically stable.

“The company over the years has been living up to its corporate social responsibilities by squarely interfacing, supporting and encouraging the people within its immediate environment of operations. Etete has strongly and clearly demonstrated his unwavering patriotism to Nigeria.

“As a council, the largest and most formidable youth movement in Niger Delta and beyond, we are urging other company’s to emulate Century Group for their methods of service delivery and operations in Nigeria.

We are also calling on the Federal Government of Nigeria and Niger Deltans to pave the way for Century Group to handle bigger jobs for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry to experience more boom.

“There is no doubt that Sir Ken Etete is one of the best gifts and asset the Lord Almighty has given to the Ijaw people in Nigeria, we are very proud of him and his contribution towards nation building and particularly the sustenance of peace in the Niger Delta region has been very critical and pivotal, Etete is no doubt a rare and kind leader in the region.

“As the first indigenous oil and gas company to wholly own three floating production storage and offloading vessels in sub-saharan speaks volume of your hardwork and over twenty years of wealth of experience in diverse sectors of Nigeria economy.

“We believe with your continued integration of sons and daughters of Niger Delta in the energy sector through Century Group subsidiaries, you will continue to contribute your quota in advancing the needed peace in the country.” Binebai Yerin Princewill added.

In his swift reaction, Peter Ofoghan, leader of the Century Group delegation commended Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council for his advocacy in the region, stressing that the Ijaw people are proud of him.

Ofoghan asserted that Century Group owned by Etete is committed in bringing more innovations into the Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, stressing that the visit was inline with the company’s move to interface and fraternize with key stakeholders within its environment of operations.

He continued that his boss Ken Etete is always willing to support any legitimate Niger Delta, Ijaw and Nigerian youths that have positive ideas to make a living.

The Spokesman of Council was flanked by Comr. Oyinkuro Wazo Zikurebai, Chairman IYC Gbaramatu Clan, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
