NCDMB launches 2024 annual undergraduate essay competition

The 2024NCDMB annual national Undergraduate Essay Competition has officially launched, marking its eighth edition.
 Mr. Eyinimi Omorozi, CEO of Mahogany 21 Century Concepts Limited, announced that many students from various higher institutions have registered, with essay submissions open until October 14, 2024.
Organized by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), this competition promotes academic excellence and awareness of local content initiatives in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The essay topic is “Nigerian Content and Opportunities in African Local Content Advancement,” targeting first and second-year students in Nigerian universities and polytechnics.
Prizes include N1,000,000 for first place, N700,000 for second, and N500,000 for third, with laptops awarded to all top ten finalists. Essays must be original works not exceeding 1,500 words and submitted via the competition’s website.
 The final assessment will occur by October 28, with an awards ceremony scheduled for November.Omorozi emphasized the competition’s role in developing local capacities among youth for effective participation in the oil and gas industry.
