AYUBA GUFWAM RESUMES DUTY AT NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR PEOPLE WITH DISSABILITIES AS EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

Ayuba Gufwan, the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for People with Disabilities (NCPWD), has resumed duty. He was accompanied by the senior special assistant to the president on disability matters, Mohammed Abba Isa.

The outgoing Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, James David Lalu, and other management staff received him.

This marks a new chapter for the commission, which is responsible for promoting the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in Nigeria.

Gufwan’s appointment was approved by President Bola Tinubu, and he is expected to bring new energy and leadership to the commission.

His background in disability advocacy and his experience working with organizations that support people with disabilities make him well-suited for this role.

The Network of Women with Disabilities (NWD) has congratulated Gufwan on his appointment, and the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has also welcomed him to the role.

As he begins his tenure, Gufwan is expected to build on the progress made by his predecessor and to work towards a more inclusive and accessible Nigeria for all.
