Opinion: Ewohimi Agenda Unfolding

By: Ehi Aidaghese

Come 2023 and 2024, it is either Osadebe House or the Senate. If Not Now, When? If Not Us, Who? Enough of the OLD order. Let’s start something NEW.

Irrua, Uromi, and Ubiaja folks have dominated the leadership and political scene for too long. It’s time for Ewohimi men and women of both APC and PDP to stand up and be counted. We need new faces.

Today, Esan is marginalized in the Edo State politics, because of the caliber and the credibility of the individuals who were allowed to represent our interest before the Benins and the Afemais in the state capital.

If you are not capable of standing up before other Esan folks and identify yourself as an Ewohimi indigene, and project Ewohimi interest, you cannot represent us.

And if you believe a revolution is long overdue at Abuja, it’s also long overdue in your community. The disconnect between Abuja and Nigerians is a concomitant of the detached relationship between the leadership we sent to Abuja and the reality on the ground in our community.

Therefore, the revolution must start from the home front.

Please, join me as we begin compiling names of selfless Ewohimi indigenes who are ready and available to give Ewohimi a new start in Nigerian leadership struggle.

Thank you, and may God Bless the good people of Ewohimi.
