By: Prince Emmanuel Odigie.
Romans 14:8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
28 August, 2021, Sir Professor Victor Uwaifo  drew his last breath at the ripe age of 80, having lived a full and eventful life that saw him bestride the public sphere like a colossus.
He was such an enigma combining music artistry with being an academic of great repute.
His musical albums featuring great Benin forklores like Joromi, Ekaasa, Arabade, to mention just a few are testimonies of his great talents and creativity.
No doubt Sir Professor Victor Uwaifo is a maestro who will be missed and impossible to replace in the public sphere, but the rest of us take consolation in the fact that he lived his life and work without holding anything back and his example will continue to be in the public domain for generations yet unborn to learn from.
Continue to rest Sir Professor Victor Uwaifo, a father and leader, even though you’ve gone on to the great beyond, your life will continue to be an example and a part of the great Benin heritage.
