In the past few weeks, the social media space has been inundated with arguments for and against Esan Agenda, those who promote these arguments have done little to shore up their arguments and put it in a proper perspective that the lay man can understand.

We must all clearly understand that there is an undeniably genuine clamour for Power shift to Edo Central, the reason being that power have gone to our brothers in Edo South, Edo North, and back to Edo south again, the agitation for POWER SHIFT by the people of Edo Central is genuine.

I have never liked the phrase ESAN AGENDA reason is that, it can easily get a tribal coloration by mischief makers, and sadly that is what a lot of people have translated it to recently.

The truth is that there is no ESAN AGENDA, there is only a genuine clamour for Power to shift to Edo Central, this is not borne out of primordial tribal or ethnic sentiments, but the need for all 3 Senatorial Zones of Edo State to rotate power which will promote a greater sense of belonging, fairness and equity.

It is an undisputed fact that Governor Godwin Obaseki has performed excellently well by laying down a solid foundation that will propel Edo State to greater heights and it will not be asking for too much to have a successor who will continue in the laudable MEGA Agenda already in place.

The Esan Senatorial District like every other District in Edo State have their rights to aspire and be ambitious, you cannot fault a people for being ambitious.

Edo is one people and we have always lived in peace and harmony for many years, it is only those who are bereaved of historical facts that will try to promote ethnic and parochial divisions amongst us at this time.

Finally, it is still too early to be discussing 2024 and the politics of who will direct the affairs of Edo State in Osadebe Avenue come 2024. Let us stop the needless rambling and continue to pray for Governor Godwin Obaseki and his administration to succeed. The success of Governor Obaseki is the success of Edo State.

Power belongs to God and he alone has the final say, nobody knows what will happen tomorrow, so I appeal to everyone of my friends out there to sheath their swords.

May God bless Edo State
May God bless Nigeria.
